Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Wabash Valley Power is a not-for-profit electric cooperative and wholesale provider of reliable, affordable electricity to our 23 electric distribution member cooperatives. What You'll Do
As a Meter Technician I, you will provide metering support services required by the company and its Member Cooperatives.  You'll also be responsible for performing the following responsibilities:

•  Procuring metering equipment, including but not limited to, meters, metering instruments, wiring, test switches, meter bases, meter adaptors, antennas, batteries, meter communications devices, and related meter software.

• Programing, calibrating, testing, and otherwise equip single phase, poly-phase, and current transformer rated meters prior to field deployment. When appropriate, install cellular and/or SCADA communication devices.  As hardware is removed from service, inspect, troubleshoot, and evaluate whether that hardware can be repurposed or retired.

•  Installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing metering equipment; including, but not limited to, low voltage wiring to current transformers, potential transformers, test switches, and meter bases.

• Maintaining meter equipment inventory and supporting corporate metering standards documents, including the preparation of essential metering schematics and/or metering facility diagrams.

•  May perform site visits to various metering locations and attend various meetings.

• Collecting Load Profile data and power quality data from advanced solid-state meters.

• Maintaining Wabash Valley’s meter test record database.

• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree required. 
• Three years of electric utility experience required.
• Experience with single and poly-phase metering installations, meter wiring, meter communications and familiarity with metering schematics required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
