Job Description

The WT Sydney office continues to grow with high-profile new engagements landing with multi-national technology clients leading to a new, Senior Quantity Surveyor role in the Data Centre team. 

With major projects underway and more in the pipeline, we’re on the lookout for an experienced SQS that has ideally managed Data Centre projects or other similar mission-critical and complex sites.

This role will perform various traditional quantity surveying functions including estimating, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.  

This role is responsible for:

  • Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
  • Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
  • Master-plan and feasibility budgets
  • Cost checking of developing design
  • Value engineering
  • Tender evaluations and analysis
  • Contract negotiations
  • Cash flow projects
  • Procurement
  • Cost reporting
  • Final account reporting
  • Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
  • Investment analysis
  • Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction
  • Extensive experience in cost estimating and planning software/ Cost X
  • Demonstrated track record of winning and managing major projects
  • Experience managing mission-critical projects or similar projects of complex design
