We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic kitchen team in Drumnadrochit, United Kingdom. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment whilst supporting our chefs and cooks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive team setting.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers, ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and properly stored • Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, food preparation areas, and equipment to the highest hygiene standards • Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients • Receive, check, store, and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients, maintaining accurate inventory records • Support the goods-in and goods-out processes, ensuring stock is logged and stored appropriately • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards or equipment faults promptly • Work proactively to identify opportunities for improving kitchen efficiency and cleanliness
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive working environment • Respond flexibly to changing priorities and support the team during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects safely • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately • Excellent time keeping and reliability • Good communication and people skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a structured team environment
- Hands-on and proactive approach to work with a willingness to learn • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food hygiene practices is desirable • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced kitchen environment • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not essential • Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace for all team members
