Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Southampton, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow for our culinary team.
- Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and store rooms to the highest standards
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks and manage stock deliveries
- Operate dishwashers and implement proper sanitation practices throughout the kitchen
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Support the kitchen team in daily operations and setup for service
- Organise and store kitchen supplies and equipment efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and report any shortages to the kitchen manager
- Perform any additional tasks as required to support the smooth running of the kitchen
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of hygiene practices
- Excellent team player with a positive and flexible attitude
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Basic numeracy skills for assisting with inventory management
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Previous kitchen experience or relevant training is beneficial but not essential
- Willingness to work in various catering environments, including high-profile settings
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
