Job Description
Caterlink is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team in Kesgrave, United Kingdom. As a key member of our catering staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our students receive nutritionally balanced and delicious meals in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and cooking of meals to the required standard
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and service meet our high expectations
- Maintain excellent customer service whilst adhering to strict food safety standards
- Support the efficient running of the kitchen and dining areas
- Collaborate with the catering team to create a positive dining experience for students
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements when appropriate
- Adapt to working across multiple schools in the Suffolk area as required
- Participate in relevant training and development opportunities
Qualifications
- Passion for food service and nutrition
- Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of food hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to changing needs
- Team player mentality with strong collaborative skills
- Physical stamina for standing and moving for extended periods
- Own transport and full driving licence (essential for travelling between schools)
- Previous experience in a catering or food service role (desirable)
- Food hygiene certification (desirable, but training can be provided)
