Job Description

Position Summary:

Leads Finance & Accounting operations supporting container terminal services across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cash Application, Reconciliations, Financial Reporting, and Month-End Close processes. Responsible for service delivery, financial controls, client governance, stakeholder management, productivity improvement, operational transformation, capability development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provides strategic leadership across finance operations while ensuring billing accuracy, revenue capture, operational excellence, audit readiness, compliance, and delivery performance within a ports, maritime, shipping, and logistics finance environment.

Key Responsibilities 

Terminal Billing 

  • Govern invoicing for lifts, restows, flips, stevedoring, M&R, and related terminal charges. 
  • Ensure Navis N4 activity validation, billing accuracy, and revenue capture integrity. 
  • Oversee billing dispute resolution, adjustments, and credit memo controls. 

Accounts Payable & Receivable 

  • Lead AP processing, approvals, coding compliance, and payment execution. 
  • Manage AR aging, collections governance, and customer payment follow-up. 
  • Ensure accurate cash application/payment processing, including PayCargo settlements. 

General Ledger & Reconciliations 

  • Oversee journal entries, GL controls, and reconciliation governance. 
  • Ensure timely balance sheet and subledger reconciliations and issue resolution. 
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and financial integrity. 

Month-End Close & Reporting 

  • Own close calendar adherence, accruals, allocations, and account reviews. 
  • Review recurring and ad hoc financial reporting outputs. 
  • Ensure documentation readiness for audits and leadership reviews. 

Process, Controls & Leadership 

  • Ensure SOP, compliance, security, and internal control adherence. 
  • Drive productivity improvements, cross-training, and capability development. 
  • Manage escalations, resource planning, governance cadence, and stakeholder communication. 

Additional Leadership Accountabilities 

    • Own end-to-end service delivery performance across multiple finance towers.
    • Lead client governance forums and executive stakeholder reviews.
    • Drive revenue capture integrity, financial control maturity, and operational excellence.
    • Lead transformation, automation, and productivity improvement initiatives.
    • Manage organizational capability building, succession planning, and leadership development.
    • Ensure achievement of operational KPIs, SLA commitments, compliance requirements, and customer expectations.
    • Sponsor process standardization, knowledge management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of Finance & Accounting operations experience.
  • End-to-end F&A leadership experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Reconciliations, Reporting, and Close Processes.
  • Experience managing multi-process or multi-tower finance operations in shared services, global business services, or outsourced environments.
  • Proven client governance and executive stakeholder management capability.
  • Demonstrated ownership of service delivery, operational excellence, transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience leading large teams, developing leadership capability, and driving organizational performance.
  • Strong financial controls, revenue recognition, reconciliation, accounting, and operational finance knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting systems expertise.
  • Experience overseeing operational finance, billing, terminal operations, and accounting platforms comparable to OASYS and Navis N4.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Container terminal billing and logistics finance experience. 
  • Knowledge of Navis N4 and terminal operating systems. 
  • Experience in maritime, ports, freight, or transportation finance. 
  • Exposure to PayCargo and legacy accounting platforms. 

Systems & Tools 

  • OASYS or comparable ERP/accounting platforms
  • Navis N4 or comparable terminal operating systems
  • PayCargo and customer payment settlement platforms
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, reporting and analytics tools
  • Experience leading operations supported by integrated finance, billing, terminal, and operational systems
  • Ability to govern technology-enabled finance operations and drive automation, digitization, and process transformation initiatives across multiple platforms
