Job Title: Product Research Analyst – AI-driven Products
Role Overview
As a Product Research Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to conduct in-depth research into the competitive landscape, identify emerging trends, and analyse advancements in existing AI solutions. You will be instrumental in deriving valuable insights that inform the design and development of products for our offerings across industries. You will be expected to conduct & validate research findings, ensure accuracy, and report insights to key stakeholders, to help shape product and service strategies. Additionally, you will support product research efforts that inform roadmap prioritization, identify innovation opportunities, and ensure long-term product relevance.
Key Responsibilities
- Trend Identification
- Stay on top of emerging trends in AI technologies and services.
- Research the landscape for data, analytics and AI related trends across various industries (such as retail, CPG, BFSI, life sciences, healthcare and travel).
- Analyze industry reports, news sources, and social channels to spot early indicators of trends that could influence the market.
- Identify shifts in customer preferences and emerging business needs that align with our capabilities.
- Competitive Landscape Analysis
- Research and map out competitive players in the data, analytics & AI product and services space.
- Conduct SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) for key competitors.
- Monitor and track competitors’ product releases, market positioning, and innovations.
- Compare competitive products and offerings to derive the technical and business differentiators.
- Product Research & Roadmap Insights
- Conduct research to evaluate product-market fit, feature relevance, and industry alignment.
- Identify white spaces and unmet needs in the market that can be addressed through product innovation.
- Work with product managers to inform roadmap decisions using validated insights.
- Analyze product adoption trends, user feedback, and industry benchmarks to ensure continuous product evolution and differentiation.
- Research Validation & Reporting
- Validate market research findings with both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Use surveys, interviews, and other data-gathering methods to confirm trends and insights.
- Prepare and present detailed research reports, complete with actionable recommendations with identification of white spaces in the market.
- Summarize findings in a clear, digestible format for leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the product and product-marketing (GTM) teams to align on market insights and strategy.
- Collaborate with the GTM team to ensure that the competitive landscape and emerging trends are factored into go-to-market plans.
- Help identify new opportunities for products based on market research insights.
- Continuous Improvement & Learning
- Actively seek out new sources of market intelligence, staying up-to-date with tools and methodologies.
- Participate in relevant industry conferences, webinars, and research groups to continually expand knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 6-7 years of experience in market research, competitive analysis, or strategic insights in the analytics, AI, tech, or SaaS industry.
- Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning, data engineering frameworks and AI-driven products/services is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large sets of data and extract actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with research tools (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, Statista, and others).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Market Research, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- Mindset & Attitude:
- Proactive, self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple cross-functional teams.
