Job Description
The L1/L2 Category Support Co-ordinator will focus on specific tasks in supporting category team and assist adoption of ARIBA’s various Modules by Client employees.
The Client Procurement team is well established, resourced and respected. Accountable for $3BN p.a. procurement expenditure across portfolios spanning raw materials, maintenance capital & MRO, production operations, transport, mobile assets and leasing, IT and professional services, travel, FM, and product for resale.
The team includes both Sourcing & Category Management, and Operational Procurement sub-teams and comprises of ~45 people located across multiple locations in Australia.
Client Procurement is responsible for managing global and Australian supply chains and interacts with over 15000 vendors across 50 countries.
Purpose of the role
Promoting, pursuing, and assisting vendors and business users in the adoption and effective use of Client procurement systems such as Ariba modules (primarily ARIBA Sourcing, SAP (ARIBA) Business Network (Commerce Automation), ARIBA Supplier Lifecycle Performance (SLP), ARIBA Catalogues).
Location
Location of the role is flexible, but the working hours remain 8:30 AM to 5 PM Sydney Time.
Reporting and Leading
This role reports to the Procurement Systems and Process Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse spend data; trends in spending to ascertain anomalies or opportunities to identify areas of potential savings and make recommendations
- Assist with category and sourcing strategy development and analytics, and provide project and initiative support
- Assist in conducting tender evaluation, analysing rates, while remaining compliant with the overall sourcing strategy
- Assisting the business users and vendors in resolving queries/issues related to Ariba Business Network.
- Assist the business users and vendors in on-boarding process of new vendors on ARIBA SLP;
- Assist category managers in setting-up Ariba e-sourcing events (RFXs & e-Auctions) and co-ordinate with vendors to ensure they’re able to respond on Ariba.
- Working with internal stakeholders on creating supplier requests and supplier registration projects
- Working and helping vendors to ensure they successfully respond to the requests to use required ARIBA modules;
- Liaise with business and vendors to ensure adherence to Client procurement policy;
- Follow up business users and vendors for allocated work;
- Working under the direction of procurement leadership team for the allocated tasks; and
- Complete the allocated tasks within the allocated time.
Skills
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot queries coming from Sourcing team (PO creators) and vendors transacting through Ariba Network
- Solid understanding of fundamentals of the Procurement processes
- Advanced knowledge of SLP module (Supplier Lifecycle Performance), SAP Business Network (Ariba Commerce Automation), Ariba Catalogues, Ariba Sourcing and contract module
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in English
- Great organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to help business users, vendors and provide high level of customer service experience.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as category support in Procurement or similar role
- Good corporate sense and attitude with business/commercial acumen
- Experience using MS Excel at advanced level
- Experience using MS Office tools (MS Word, Outlook for emails & Calendar and MS Teams, MS PowerPoint etc) at intermediate level
- Experience using SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracts, Catalogues, SLP and SAP Business Network
- Experience in Supplier registration process and creation of supplier modular questionnaires
- Experience in setting-up sourcing events (RFXs)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, Science, Technology or Engineering);
