Job Description
Job Role: Test Engineer (Exp. 3-4 Years)
Position Overview:
The Test Engineer will be responsible for executing test activities across projects to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and QA leads, the Test Analyst will contribute to test planning, execution, defect management, and documentation.
Skills Required:
- Test Design & Execution – Strong ability to create and execute test cases based on requirements.
- Testing Tools – Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar tools for test and defect management.
- STLC Knowledge – Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle and QA processes.
- Web Testing – Hands-on experience in testing web applications across browsers and devices.
- API Testing – Familiarity with tools like Postman for validating RESTful APIs.
- Automation Exposure – Basic experience or understanding of automation tools such as Selenium, RestAssured, etc.
- Analytical Skills – Ability to identify edge cases, analyze defects, and suggest improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Design:
- Understand business and functional requirements to design effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Contribute to test strategy and planning discussions with the QA lead or Test Manager.
- Test Execution:
- Execute manual and/or automated test cases across functional, integration, and regression testing phases.
- Log defects with clear documentation and steps to reproduce.
- Defect Management:
- Participate in defect triaging sessions to assess severity and priority.
- Retest resolved defects and ensure closure in coordination with development teams.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on testing scope and timelines.
- Provide regular updates on test progress, issues, and risks to the QA lead or project manager.
- Test Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain test artifacts including test cases, test data, and execution reports.
- Support in preparing test sign-off documents and status reports.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
- Follow defined QA processes and suggest improvements where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to testing standards and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in insurance domain will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to Insurance domain workflows, including policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and renewals.
- Understanding of insurance product structures such as Life, Health, General, and Group Insurance.
- Familiarity with insurance platforms or tools such as Acturis, Guidewire, Duck Creek, or custom-built systems will be an added advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automation).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
