Our Client Sourcing team is seeking a seasoned Sourcing Support Lead to drive Facility Operations Sourcing initiatives at our local data centers.  This role spans all aspects of data center facility operations including but not limited to critical facilities services, non-critical services, preventive maintenance, data center retrofits as well as the management of associated suppliers, development, and execution of sourcing strategy, contract negotiations, schedule adherence, and cost management.

The primary goal of the Sourcing Support Lead is to provide local sourcing support and execution to help our data centers run more efficiently. As such, we are seeking someone with excellent communication and leadership skills to own this space and act as the primary interface for our local data center stakeholder teams, external vendors, suppliers, and our centralized Sourcing Managers at headquarters.

This position reports to a Facility Operations Sourcing Manager and is currently remote but will be based at a local data center site. This position may support multiple data center sites.

Responsibilities:

Data Center Stakeholder relationship management.

  • Establish and lead the business relationship with local key stakeholders while aligning on strategy and top impact initiatives with sourcing managers to deliver on Sourcing initiatives; Implement and manage key strategic initiatives at local sites to enable efficient scaling, optimal supplier performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Help identify and manage key performance metrics that enable optimal internal SLA performance.
  • Continuously measure, manage, and improve supplier actual performance against negotiated SLA.
  • Support Business Reviews for key suppliers.
  •  Provide training to local teams on sourcing process, requirements and initiatives

Data Center turnup.

  • Partner with local teams as required to assure all required services and spares are in place prior to data center turn-up.
  • Co-ordinate site initial ordering under national agreements.
  • Source and negotiate contracts with local suppliers for non-critical services and other equipment as needed.

Data Center On-Going Service Support.

  • Assist the local team with all sourcing needs.
  • Provide local support in the ordering and management of required services.
  • Manage the process of contract terminations, expirations, extensions, and renewals.
  •  Act as the first point of escalation for local sourcing needs or supplier issues.
  •  Analyze spend data, internal requirements and supplier performance to support overall global sourcing strategy for the data centers.
  • Support RFI, RFP, and RFQ services as directed by the sourcing manager. Partner with appropriate internal stakeholders. Present RFx results to evaluation team and assist in the closure of a sourcing and purchase decisions.
  • Help identify and qualify which suppliers should be on a preferred supplier list. Partner with internal stakeholders and sourcing managers to ensure alignment. Guide business to PSL.
  • Day-to-day operational management of all delivery, cost, quality, and overall performance-related issues with suppliers.

Reporting.

  • Provide reports to local stakeholders and sourcing managers on supplier performance
  • Lead measuring supplier performance, root causing issues, and driving improved performance.
  • Own all aspects of supplier operational performance (cost, quality and delivery) at assigned Data Centers

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • MUST BE WILLING TO RESIDE IN FREMONT, CA WITHIN 4-6 MONTHS OF HIRE
  • BA/BS or equivalent with at least 5 years of facilities operations sourcing experience.
  • At least 3 years of Sourcing Management or Supply Chain Management experience in related products and services.
  • 3+ years’ experience in negotiating cost, managing vendor performance against contract and driving supplier quality improvements.
  •  Knowledge of purchasing, negotiating and end-to-end supplier management.; Analytical and results focused.
  • Willing to travel as needed.

  • Deep understanding of procurement methodology and ability to apply various concepts to sourcing activities at the Client
  • Familiarity with various best practice sourcing approaches and techniques
  • Ability to synthesize data, draw a conclusion, and make recommendations based on an understanding of client objectives and requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data in Excel using pivot tables and various other key Excel functions to analyze, organize and present data
