We are seeking a highly analytical and driven Logistics Procurement Specialist specializing in Air Pricing to join our Pricing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for air freight, including sourcing forwarders and airlines, managing RFQs, negotiating competitive rates, and securing strategic capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and register new logistics suppliers, including:
  • Airlines
  • Freight Forwarders
  • GSA (General Sales Agents)
  • CFS (Container Freight Stations)
  • Air Cargo Handling Agents
  • Drayage and Intermodal Carriers
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with logistics service providers.
• Conduct supplier capability assessments, performance evaluations, and risk analysis.
• Maintain supplier database and vendor qualification records.

   

Airline Procurement & Contract Management

• Source and negotiate direct agreements with airlines, including:
  • Block Space Agreements (BSA)
  • General Sales Agent (GSA) Agreements
  • Special Rate Agreements (SPA) where applicable
• Negotiate transportation rates, capacity allocations, service commitments, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
• Coordinate with Legal to review, finalize, and execute transportation agreements.
• Monitor contract compliance, expiration dates, and renewal opportunities.

   

RFQ/RFP Management

• Develop, issue, and manage RFQ/RFP packages for:
  • Samsung business
  • Non-Samsung business opportunities
• Collect, organize, and validate supplier quotations.
• Coordinate competitive bidding events among multiple logistics providers.
• Ensure RFQ submissions comply with procurement standards and customer requirements.

Pricing & Cost Analysis

• Analyze transportation quotations across multiple cost elements, including:
  • Air Freight
  • Fuel Surcharge
  • Security Charges
  • Terminal Handling Charges
  • Documentation Fees
  • Pick-up & Delivery
  • Customs Brokerage
  • DG Charges
  • Accessorial Charges
• Build financial simulations and cost comparison models.
• Perform landed cost and total logistics cost analysis.
• Conduct market benchmarking for air freight rates, carrier capacity, and transit times.
• Recommend optimal carrier and forwarder selections based on cost, service, and operational performance.

Procurement Strategy

• Develop procurement strategies to improve competitiveness and achieve cost savings.
• Identify sourcing opportunities through market research and industry benchmarking.
• Evaluate market trends, airline capacity, and seasonal pricing fluctuations.
• Support annual procurement initiatives and carrier sourcing events.

   

Business Development Support

• Partner with Sales to develop competitive logistics solutions for customers.
• Recommend transportation strategies that improve customers' supply chain performance.
• Support implementation of new business opportunities by coordinating with operations and procurement teams.
• Assist in preparing pricing proposals for customer bids and tenders.

   

Procurement Systems & Reporting

• Administer internal procurement and quotation management systems.
• Maintain sourcing documentation and procurement records.
• Prepare procurement reports, KPI dashboards, and supplier performance metrics.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

   

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with:
  • Sales
  • Operations
  • Finance
  • Legal
  • Customer Service
  • Global Procurement
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and pricing processes.

   

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree required (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or Finance preferred).
• 4+ years of experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, or logistics sourcing/operations, with a strict focus on Air Freight.
• Proven, hands-on experience managing RFP/RFQ processes and conducting financial data analysis.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Must be comfortable handling large-scale quotation and cost analysis using complex formulas, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, Data Validation, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, SUMIF, and Power Query
• Strong problem-solving mindset and sharp negotiation tactics.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional global teams.

Work Adaptability & Travel

• Ability to thrive and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work additional hours, weekends, or holidays outside of regularly scheduled business hours when required to meet critical business needs.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20% for business-related needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working directly within a major Freight Forwarder, Broker Company, or 3PL.
