Job Description

A Financial Consultant/ Financial Advisor works with clients to develop individualized financial plans for savings, retirement, investments and insurance. They effectively manage a client base by ensuring that all clients receive the proper attention and response. Consultants and advisors also work with clients to learn client needs, goals, preferences and prior experiences in efforts to accomplish financial goals and objectives.

  • Ability to communicate through face-to-face meetings and/or phone presentations, in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients, prospects and business partners in any setting

  • Flexibility to travel and/or work non-traditional hours to meet with clients in their homes or businesses.


  • Willingness to obtain state LIFE license within 90 days of hire

  • Willingness to obtain Series 6, Series 63 within 180 days of hire (Advisors ONLY)

  • Must have 2-3 years of work related experience

  • Ability to pass federal background check

Additional Information

  • Assess financial situations by gathering information regarding investments, asset allocation, savings, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning

  • Analyze and interpret customers’ financial circumstances and develop financial strategies

  • Select appropriate products, through balanced presentations, to each client’s current needs and long term financial strategy

  • Monitor clients' financial situation by tracking changes in wealth and life circumstances, analyzing financial plan results, identifying and evaluating new financial strategies, and recommending changes in goals and plans

  • Provide financial management information by preparing financial need analyses

  • Market services by asking for referrals from current clients, meeting prospects at community functions, responding to inquiries, developing promotions, and presenting financial planning workshops

  • Prospect and recruit new team members to build a strong company base

  • Update job knowledge by tracking financial markets, general economic conditions, and new financial products

  • Participate in educational opportunities by reading professional and technical publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations

  • Adhere to all compliance/risk procedures, follow corporate and industry protocols, and act in a manner which protects the interests of the client at all times
