The farm Lobethal is located along the south coast of Western Australia, approximately 100 km east of Esperance and 30km south of Beaumont. Situated 12kms from some of the best beaches in Australia, allowing fishing opportunity’s and plentiful 4x4 tracks and beach driving. Both primary school and high school bus routes go past the farm.

Lobethal covers an impressive 12,747 arable ha. The farm is heavily focused on soil amelioration and precision agriculture which are the foundation to push yields beyond historical averages. The farm has a strong family focus and the Manager’s house is suited for a family.

Job Description

What does the Farm Manager at Warakirri Cropping do?

  • As a leader of people and culture on the farm, you are responsible to ensure the wellbeing of your team and their families.
  • Alongside your farm management team, you are accountable for the day-to-day management of safety and performance of the farm. This encompasses management of Health and Safety, planning and executing operations and paddock plans, managing employees, handling finances, and ensuring adherence to Warakirri policies and procedures.
  • Your role includes planning, preparing, and implementing annual cropping plans and budgets, covering various activities such as spraying, spreading, paddock preparation, planting, fertiliser applications, and harvest.
  • You and your farm team actively participate in Local Grower Groups and support Agricultural Research and Development initiatives.
  • A crucial aspect of your role is to develop and implement farm and cropping quarterly strategy plans in collaboration with the farm team.
  • You are responsible for reporting and maintaining records on paddock operations, safety measures, and maintenance activities.

  • You possess strong financial literacy.

  • You demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • You hold an MC Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain one.
  • You have a chemical users’ certificate or have the ability to obtain one.
