Job Description

The role of Retail Assistant Store Manager at Vuori is to help the Retail Store Manager lead the retail sales team by for example, forging connections with customers while communicating Vuori’s brand values through insightful product knowledge and a happy, optimistic outlook. Also, encouraging the team on how to maintain Vuori’s standards in retail sales and customer experiences.

What you'll get to do: 

Vuori is looking for an Assistant Store Manager of Community who will play a pivotal role in the success of our retail store through a focus on community excellence.  

 

As an Assistant Store Manager of Community at Vuori, you partner with the General Manager to create the community strategy for the store and you are responsible for the execution of the strategy across community initiatives.  You are responsible for building meaningful connections between Vuori and the local active and wellness community, positioning the store as a destination for both shopping and shared experiences. As an ASM of Community, you lead the planning and execution of community initiatives—including team sweats, in-store events, and product storytelling—that bring the Vuori brand to life while driving traffic, loyalty, and long-term growth.  You understand that excellence comes from intentional practice, creating a space in the store and in our community that is rooted in learning, trust, gratitude, and fun. 

 

Beyond community leadership, you deeply understand how systems within our business impact one another and uphold all product operations and visual merchandising SOPs and working routines. You inspire and grow high-performing teams, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and empower your people to consistently deliver results across all of our retail priorities. 

What You’ll Get to Do 

Community 

  • Lead the planning and execution of community programs that connect the store to the local fitness, wellness, and lifestyle community. 

  • Partner closely with the HQ Community Manager to develop, evolve, and execute initiatives that align with brand standards and support business goals. 

  • Represent Vuori with authenticity and professionalism in the store, at team sweats, and at community events. 

  • Ensure every community touchpoint reflects the Vuori brand, values, and customer experience standards. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the local active and wellness community through consistent participation in team sweats, events, and partnerships. 

  • Lead community as a core part of the store’s culture, ensuring every team member understands their role in delivering exceptional community experiences. 

  • Inspire and engage the store team to take ownership of community initiatives, driving excitement, accountability, and consistent execution. 

  • Represent Vuori with authenticity and professionalism in the store, at team sweats, and at community events. 

  • Ensure every community touchpoint reflects the Vuori brand, values, and customer experience standards. 

People   

  • Support the General Manager in promoting a culture of excellence, emphasizing open communication, trust, respect, punctuality, accountability, and commitment to role responsibilities among staff members. 

  • Partner with the General Manager to implement hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training, development, engagement strategies for store employees   

  • Champion a safe and healthy work environment by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential hazards or risks, and implementing best practices and safety protocols.  

Customer Experience 

  • Take proactive ownership of the sales floor and sales team to ensure that customer experience remains the top priority, fostering a customer-centric environment where every interaction is meaningful and memorable. 

  • Empower employees to make decisions and resolve customer issues independently, while providing guidance and support as needed. 

Product 

  • Assist in the implementation of product operations initiatives to enhance efficiency in inventory management and product handling. 

  • Lead the execution of daily and weekly product operations tasks, including inbound and outbound product shipments, role modeling and upholding Vuori’s SOPs. 

  • Assist in the implementation of visual merchandising initiatives, including new product flips, mannequin looks, in season product management, and overall in-store standards. 

Finance & Labor 

  • Assist the General Manager in schedule and labor management, adhering to all company scheduling best practices and applicable local and state labor laws  

  • Assist in management of store expenses, fully utilizing allocated budget to recognize team performance and drive business results. 

Qualifications

Who you are: 

  • Available morning and/or evening, work 8 hour shifts, 5 days/week, available at least 1 weekend day. 

  • 4+ years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience, showcasing the ability to effectively lead and inspire a team towards achieving common goals. 

  • Proven ability to create and maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders, including HQ partners, team members, and external partners, to drive alignment and facilitate collaboration.  

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills, with event planning and management a plus. 

  • Established track record in retail sales leadership, driving sales targets through strategic planning, execution, and team motivation. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, excelling in the art of coaching, motivating, and mentoring team members to consistently deliver outstanding performance. 

  • Comprehensive understanding of retail operations, including expertise in inventory management, visual merchandising principles, and implementation of highly effective sales techniques. 

  • Demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities that align with Vuori's culture, with a strong commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment. 

  • Commit to upholding Vuori's brand standards and values, promoting sustainability, wellness, and community engagement across all store operations.  

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including the ability to lift, bend, kneel, and safely climb up/down a ladder, the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds, and the ability to move around the store for extended periods of time

This is an hourly position, plus team pooled commission.
