Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MicroStrategy Platform Administrator and Support Lead to manage, maintain, and enhance the MicroStrategy environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the platform’s optimal performance, providing user support, and driving continuous improvement in our business intelligence (BI) capabilities. This role requires deep technical expertise in MicroStrategy, coupled with strong problem-solving and communication skills to support various stakeholders within the organization. 

Qualifications

What you'll get to do:

Platform Administration: 

  • Manage and maintain the MicroStrategy environment, including server configuration, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning. 
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventive measures to ensure high availability and reliability. 
  • Oversee the deployment of new projects, reports, and dashboards within the MicroStrategy platform. 
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all MicroStrategy applications, adhering to company policies and compliance requirements. 

User Support and Troubleshooting: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all MicroStrategy-related issues, providing timely and effective support to end users. 
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and data sources. 
  • Collaborate with the IT and BI teams to support data integration, ETL processes, and data warehouse optimization. 
  • Provide training and guidance to users on best practices, new features, and platform functionalities. 

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions. 
  • Lead the effort in optimizing and automating existing reports and dashboards to improve efficiency and user experience. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest MicroStrategy features and industry trends, recommending improvements to the platform and its usage. 
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of the overall BI roadmap. 

Documentation and Compliance: 

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of the MicroStrategy environment, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and user guides. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external data governance policies, including data privacy and security standards. 

Who you are:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. 

Experience: 

  • 10+ years of experience in MicroStrategy administration, including server management, configuration, and troubleshooting. 
  • Proven experience in a retail or consumer-facing industry is highly desirable. 
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and SQL. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Expertise in MicroStrategy platform components, including Intelligence Server, Web Server, Mobile, and Developer tools. 
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases. 
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and MicroStrategy Cloud Platform is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of network, security, and performance optimization principles. 

Soft Skills: 

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Leadership capabilities with experience mentoring or leading junior team members.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 per year - $175,000 per year.
