Job Description
The successful candidate will have 15 or more years of experience preparing and evaluating metallographic samples for engineering evaluation and part process qualification. Candidates with extensive experience working in both industrial development and production support labs are highly sought. Day to day experience using metallurgical cutoff saws, automatic and manual polishing stations, acid and electrolytic etching techniques, hardness testers (Rockwell, Brinell, Knoop and Vickers) and maintaining the lab consumables inventory is required. Documenting results using digital camera instrumented microscopes (upright, inverted and macroscope), assembling data and preparing technical reports using Excel, PowerPoint and Word is expected. Prior experience operating a SEM and a basic understanding or heat treating are also desired. S/he will be the lab safety focal responsible for monitoring and enforcing lab and manufacturing safety policies and procedures. Additionally, the role may also require the successful candidate to be Safety Officer responsible for all office, lab and plant safety policies and procedures.

- EHS training a plus
- High School or Technical School diploma required, Assoc. degree a plus
- Photographic skills and preparing photographic documentation of part features a plus
- Team player with great communication skills
- Self-motivated, capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals
- Eager to learn new skills
