Job Description

Your playground

Our products live outdoors, far from everything, with no power outlet and no Wi-Fi. Every product decision is a balance between energy autonomy, cellular connectivity, ruggedness and customer experience.

  • Connected cameras deployed in the field and updated remotely throughout their lifetime.
  • End-to-end integration: firmware, electronics, mechanical, mobile app and cloud platform.
  • Multidisciplinary teams in Montréal and Victoriaville, working with manufacturing partners and component suppliers.

What you'll do

Vision & roadmap

  • Own the delivery roadmap and rollout strategies for your products, in partnership with the Product Director and aligned with business objectives.
  • Translate customer, field and market needs into clear, measurable priorities.
  • Balance short-term needs against the platform's long-term vision.

Backlog & delivery

  • Own and prioritize the backlog: user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria (in partnership with a BA depending on the project).
  • Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements with solution architects and the firmware, electronics and mechanical teams.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint and release planning, and demos.
  • Coordinate dependencies across hardware, firmware, app and cloud, as well as with manufacturing partners and suppliers.

Quality & product lifecycle

  • Take part in design reviews, acceptance testing and deployment readiness.
  • Drive post-launch stabilization: defect prioritization, fix tracking and updates across the installed base.
  • Use field data (telemetry, diagnostics, customer and support feedback) to prioritize and measure the value delivered.
  • Build connected-device security requirements and, when needed, certification milestones into the plan.

Governance & stakeholders

  • Provide visibility on the roadmap, risks and mitigation plans within physical product development governance.
  • Align technical, operations, marketing, sales and support teams around the product vision.

Qualifications

What you need

  • 7+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a hybrid role.
  • Hands-on experience with connected physical products: cameras, IoT, consumer electronics or embedded systems.
  • A solid understanding of firmware and electronics development and their constraints.
  • Proficiency in Agile (Scrum, Kanban), Jira and Confluence.
  • A university degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or a related field.
  • Fluency in French and English: you'll work frequently with contacts outside Quebec.

What will set you apart

  • Cellular connectivity and IoT, energy-autonomy constraints.
  • New product development through to production, working with manufacturing partners.
  • Deploying and managing a large fleet of devices.
