Job Description

The Role

We're looking for a mid level Software Engineer to own and evolve our integrations platform. Our system forwards security events — such as alarms, battery warnings, and connectivity changes — to third-party platforms like Milestone VMS. You'll be responsible for keeping these integrations reliable, building new ones, and automating workflows as our platform grows.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll work primarily in Go, designing and maintaining integration modules that connect our Web application backend to external systems. You'll also play a key role in shaping how business logic is distributed between our cloud and client-side systems.

 What You'll Do

  • Build & maintain integration modules that forward events (alarms, battery low, connection lost/restored) from the Reconeyez backend to third-party platforms (Milestone, and others)
  • Develop the alarm forwarding pipeline — our core integration mechanism — ensuring reliable, real-time delivery of security events
  • Automate integration workflows to reduce manual setup and improve scalability across customer deployments
  • Design and extend integration APIs that enable new third-party connections with minimal custom code
  • Containerize and deploy integration services using Docker/Podman
  • Monitor and troubleshoot live integrations, diagnosing issues across system boundaries
  • Collaborate on architecture decisions, particularly around moving business logic closer to the client where appropriate

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Experience with Java / Go — this is the core of our integration stack
  • Experience with Docker and/or Podman for containerized deployments
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and message/alarm forwarding patterns
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and platforms (VMS systems, security platforms, or similar)
  • Self-starter mindset — you can take a problem, research it, and ship a solution independently
  • Detail-oriented — integrations break at the edges; you care about error handling, edge cases, and data integrity

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with video management systems (Milestone, Genetec, or similar)
  • Experience with security/surveillance industry protocols (ONVIF, etc.)
  • Knowledge of WebSocket, gRPC, or webhook-based event delivery
  • Experience working with embedded/IoT systems or bridge devices

Additional Information

Level

Mid-level (2–5+ years of relevant engineering experience). We value depth in Go and integration patterns over breadth across many languages.
