Job Description
About the Role
As a Project Manager at VBC, you will have the opportunity to manage projects through their entire lifecycle. From just a concept, you will work with internal teams to turn the concept into a reality. This is an exciting chance to work hands on with designers, manufacturers, and construction teams towards one common goal: to deliver a product that delights our clients. End to End Project Management
Drive Accountability for project schedule and budget management through the full project lifecycle.
Develop a strategy and roadmap for each project that provides clarity of roles and responsibilities for each person, defined goals and objectives for the project, financial targets, change management and decision making protocol, expectations around reporting progress, and mechanisms for informing leadership of project status (including escalation protocols).
Manage and Mentor assistant project managers to develop the future Project Managers at VBC.
Internal Cross Functional Leadership
Act as a liaison between all internal VBC teams (design, manufacturing, and construction), unifying teams against a common goal and ensuring seamless execution of the project.
Establish and enforce mechanisms to keep project on track, including project stakeholder meetings, reporting schedules and budgets to leadership, detailed budget updates, tracking procurement progress, tracking design progress, and enabling fast decision making.
Manage internal and subconsultant teams in obtaining permits from all applicable AHJ entities through the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with modular logistics team and all stakeholders to ensure implementation of the logistics and set plan.
Review project quality assessments from the Manufacturing Quality teams to understand and report on project health during the manufacturing process.
Client Relationship Management
The face of VBC. You will be the primary point of contact between VBC and the client once initial preconstruction contract is executed.
Facilitate contracts, scope development, change management, and reviews: including prime contract and subconsultant/subcontractor contracts.
Responsible for final hand-off to client, including all necessary documentation.
Pay range: $100-$140k annually
Qualifications
About You
Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or related field required. Relevant experience with project management certificate will be considered.
5-10 years of Project Management experience, ideally managing projects in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Experience generating, managing, and reporting project budget and schedule required.
Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams through design and construction required.
Experience reviewing and managing complex client and subconsultant contracts required.
Experience in identifying project risks including design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other
project-specific issues required.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and commenting on project documentation (large multidisciplinary architectural and engineering drawing sets), safety rules, procedure manuals, schedules, RFIs, etc. required.
Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Experience with industry specific software and technology (e.g., Procore, BIM360, Microsoft Project, Blue Beam, Smartsheet)
Ability to work independently and make significant project decisions required.
Highly organized and motivated individual preferred
Positive attitude, ability to motivate both colleagues and all people involved in a project preferred.
Strong leadership skills preferred.
