Your crew during this flight:
Within a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team you develop and refine the state-of-the-art mechanism and structures of the VoloCity that is key to its best-in-class performance.
Your mission during this flight:
As our Mechanical Engineer, your mission is to ensure the mechanical design of our components complies with the EASA requirements and certification process. You will provide technical expertise to ensure that company goals for different designs in the airframe and equipment with a focus on mechanisms are met in terms of structural integrity, certification, serviceability, cost, and weight.
- Identify the relevant requirements of designs, equipment and assemblies like doors, landing gears or aircraft control mechanisms
- Conduct technical research and evaluate design concepts
- Perform and review detailed design of structural concepts with main focus on mechanism according to requirements (e.g. lightweight, manufacturability, cost efficiency, maintainability)
- Specify design through CAD models, drawings, documents and manage data in PLM software
- Interact with suppliers and support with any manufacturing issues
- Collaborate with relevant disciplines (e.g. Structural analysis, Production, Procurement, CVE etc.)
- Provide the design and compliance demonstration documentation trough the engineering gates (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
- Perform engineering and certification tests and support compliance demonstration
- Continuously improve designs, process and documentation
- Ensure built-in quality to our design, generate design assessments if needed and participate root cause assessments
Qualifications
Check in your professional skills:
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a mechanical design engineer
• Demonstrate track record of working with mechanism like doors, retractable landing gears or aircraft control mechanisms
• A structured way of working, able to get to decisions and a high sense of responsibility
• Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in working with CAD Software, ideally Siemens NX
• Experience with PLM Software, ideally Siemens Teamcenter
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing
Preferred skills:
• Hand-on, creative, pragmatic and solution-oriented way of working in cross functional teams.
• Good understanding light structures and aircraft mechanical systems and certification process.
• Experience with as CS23/CS25/CS27/CS29/SC-VTOL.
