Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). • You will take end-to-end responsibility for the department's deliverables towards its customers.
• You will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to direct reports through coaching and mentorship, including resourcing, performance management, recognition, and reward.
• You will proactively identify hiring and training needs for the team to ensure the availability of relevant resources and competencies.
• You will ensure, maintain, and improve high standards of development quality within the team by establishing good practices and following the design organization’s processes.
• You will ensure communication flow and alignment towards and from the department's stakeholders within and outside of the CTO organization.
• You will collaborate with other CTO departments and cross-functional areas to guarantee the best company results.
• You will establish conditions within the department to deliver the requested results in time, cost, and quality.
• You will be responsible for managing the departmental budget.

• 10+ years’ experience in Aircraft Engineering / Product Safety  
• PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally  
• Experience with leading motivated and high performing teams, comfortable with a high level of change, flexibility and efficiency 
• Provide clarity through holistic understanding of technology
• Strategic mindset regarding future project needs and technology (roadmaps) 
• Lead and train (team)leaders  
• Substantial Management and leadership knowledge 
• Find solutions through pragmatic mindset
• Very good English language skills (written & spoken)
