We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Reporting directly to the VP People & Organization, you are responsible for optimizing and re-inventing the Talent Team within the P&O-area and establishing it across the Company. This means a seamless candidate experience for all incoming applicants and establishing a selection process and internal assessment processes which are built on psychometrics and scientific basis.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an experienced psychologist, who loves to scale talent assessment, direct innovation and own strategy creation as well as implement it.

Your tasks

  • You are our point of contact when it comes to talent engagement, assessment and development – you are innovating the scientific approach of assessing the best talents to scale the Company
  • You are leading a team of currently 5 people and will hire a top-notch team to successfully achieve all our goals together
  • You are designing the strategy of assessment and psychometry and will implement it – both for new as well as for existing talent at Volocopter
  • You deliver training to the management team on how to assess and engage our top-notch talent
  • You scale and automate our assessment process by fostering our culture
  • You implement a “culture of data” by using analytic tools and a wholly digital methodology

Qualifications

  • You need to have a B.Sc., M.Sc., Master’s diploma or equivalent in psychology and are able to execute and deliver as a fully-fledged psychologist (ie psychological testing etc.)
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in either a fast-paced environment/ innovation center and/ or in the aviation industry in a similar role; minimum 3 years leadership experience
  • You are able to build something up from scratch and combine strategic thinking with an absolute hands-on mentality
  • You know how to build up a top-notch selection process, you think out of the box and see past patterns: You do not oversee talent
  • You are a true and passionate leader: You love to inspire your team, to grow them and to learn something new about yourself every day
  • You employ cutting edge tests, testing and assessment methodologies and know just when to use which method for the best results
  • You are digital first – no pencil & paper tests – and can analyze and present data accurately and understandably in a way that motivates and inspires
  • An excellent communicator both verbally and written – both positive and negative messages are delivered with flair and tact
  • You are highly interested in the aviation industry, in innovation, in everything which is happening in the world – your passion is not only limited to your job
  • You have very high levels of empathy but do not lose sight of the needs of the business
  • Business fluent in German and English is a must for this role
