We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

 

Job Description

As VP of People & Organisation, you are a member of the Senior Leadership Team and therefore play an active role in deciding the strategic and operational business on a visionary and daily basis. Main Responsibilities of the Head (VP) of People & Organisation will include:

  • Help us shape Volocopter’s vision, strategy, and culture: Design Volocopter as the employer of choice for our target group and beyond
  • Guide and drive the company-wide organisational development of a high-growth business (e.g. introduction of agile frameworks)
  • Design and implement the process of recruiting key talent for your internal clients
  • Proactively commit to the delivery of key HR Processes for your client groups
  • Build a strong business relationship with your internal clients, across all levels
  • Actively shape Volocopter’s unique corporate culture by continuously reviewing team sentiment, internal communication activities, policies, leadership actions, etc.
  • Support the management team in building and maintaining a strong employee retention culture to retain our best in class talent
  • Develop and maintain succession plans for key talent and key job positions
  • Pro-actively challenge and further develop the organisational structure
  • Develop, manage and lead the P&O-team members so that they can become experts in their fields and deliver outstanding results to the organisation

Qualifications

 

  • A visionary, open-minded, positive, enthusiastic, inspiring, results-oriented leader with the ability to work in an ever-changing, international environment
  • At least 10 years proven, commercially focused, generalist HR experience in international AAA-companies, ideally gained in fast-paced, high-tech environments. Some experience gained in highly regulated, technology-driven industries (e.g. aviation or pharmaceutical sectors) will be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Significant experience of managing an HR-team; candidates must be allrounders with both theoretical and practical experience gained in leading an organisation through all stages of growth, recruitment, personal marketing, using new media, compensation & benefits, organisational as well as employee development. At least in one of the areas the candidate should have expert-skills and a very deep knowledge base.
  • Experience working in an agile environment/ knowhow in agile methods/ implementing agile in an organization is prefferred.
  • A proven track record working within a complex organisation, supporting multiple sites and business managers
  • A proven track record lead small and big groups successfully with the ability to motivate teams to their fullest potential
  • A demonstrable and practical understanding of the different approaches required of an HR professional working as a business partner, with a wide variety of professional teams and having to juggle multiple clients and priorities
  • Creative flair combined with the ability to turn ideas into practical, tangible solutions and fluent English language skills
