Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

In the VoloDrone Product Development Team, you will develop the Electrical Propulsion System running on Heavy Lift Utility Drones which will make a breakthrough in the transportation industry – the VoloDrones.

Within a multi-disciplinary team, you will be in charge of the complete development of the VoloDrone propulsion systems. You will specify, design, implement and test the devices for the aircraft, allowing deployment of our VoloDrones all over the world

  • As Function Owner you will have the development- and function responsibility of the whole Electric Propulsion System of the Aircraft
  • Your focus will be to drive the development, to do the planning of timeline, tasks, budget, and workload and also perform various development tasks as well as supplier management
  • For this you will lead a technical team, set milestones, contribute to track the project finances, organize the workflow, and oversee the execution
  • You will provide the reporting of status, milestones and planning to the program management and align with the other function owners
  • To have the technical ownership you will need to have a clear technical overview about the Electric Propulsion System, its functionality, and challenges
  • To achieve the goals assigned to you by the Program Management you will actively work on solving problems with the team and make decisions
  • You will be applying System Engineering methodology, especially you will develop Requirements Based Engineering (RBE), including requirement capture, decomposition of high-level requirements and their allocation to systems and items and requirement review, configuration (baseline) and traceability
  • Within the scope you also will manage the sub-systems and components suppliers, align and track their timeline, milestones and deliveries
  • With your team, you will develop, execute and maintain test plans, test specifications and procedures, including performing gap analysis of the test procedures against requirements
  • You will carry out post-test activities including data acquisition, analysis of test results and investigation of problems and failures found during development and qualification testing

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • You have several years of experience as Project Lead / Manager in a technical environment (From Planning to Development and Manufacturing)
  • You do have technical knowledge in HW/SW Development for High Current applications, Li-Ion batteries, inverters or motors
  • You have worked in V-Cycle and AGILE / SCRUM environments and have an awareness of the methodologies and used tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • You have worked in System Engineering environments and have an awareness of methodologies and tools (e.g. DOORS or Integrity)
  • You have proven to lead smaller or bigger teams successfully and you are able to motivate them to their fullest potential
  • You own good communication skills and have experience in presenting and reporting to internal and external partners
  • You understand the methodology of leadership and team management and you are able to make fair and thinking-forward decisions
  • You are open-minded, transparent, inclusive and a servant leader
  • You are fluent in English
  • This Position requires minimum 70% onsite presence in our office in Munich, Germany

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with drones or aircraft Experience within a DOA organisation Deep experience of at least one of the components Li-Ion batteries, inverters or motors
