We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever manned flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with its full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your Tasks:

  • Define the low voltage network architecture taking into account safety expectations
  • Establish the electrical load analysis (ELA)
  • Size the low voltage components (Battery, DC/DC converters, Circuit Breaker Panels, etc.)
  • Write components specifications
  • Manage suppliers for development of components
  • Organize testing of components and of the complete system

 

Qualifications

  • Master/PhD Degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • Track record of aerospace experience
  • Track record of equipment development for aerospace (ideally battery and/or circuit breaker panel)
  • Track record of supplier management
  • High knowledge on qualification and certification rules
  • Knowledge on cables and connectors parts for aerospace market
  • Familiar with all aspects of electrical equipment design, including mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects
  • Experience in 3D mechanical design is a plus
  • Structured way of working, high sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Teamwork and organizational talent
  • Flexibility and initiative
  • Good language skills in English (German or French is a plus)
