We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. In 2011 we performed the first-ever manned flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with its full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Within team Basic Aircraft Engineering you will be responsible for development, definition and tracing of requirements for our airframe and mechanical systems. You will ensure the proper development of components and parts according to our specifications. As an integral part of our airframe development team you are the interface between our designer team and our suppliers.

Your Tasks:

  • Assist in the development of airframe systems
  • Evaluate airframe and architectures regarding weight, safety, costs and production
  • Define and document requirements on system, sub-system and component level
  • Research, select and coordinate components and suppliers
  • Track development process and production/delivery status
  • Define test protocols, coordinate airframe system tests with external test facilities and evaluate test results on component, sub-system and system levels

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in area of aerospace design or equivalent
  • 3 years proven experience in systems engineering, preferable in aviation
  • Experience in airframe development, preferable cabin systems (Ventilation, Cooling)
  • Experienced in using requirement management software (e.g Integrity)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Part 21J and EASA DOA functions
  • Experience with EASA Certification Specifications is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German knowledge
  • Hand-on, creative and solution-oriented way of working
