We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. As Avionics System Engineer, you ensure the proper design of the Volocopter Aircraft Avionics System. You have a lot of interactions with all the system owners and design engineers to support the design and tests of the equipment. You will develop software & hardware that runs on a real urban air mobility solution – the Volocopter. You will design and implement a safe system that matters for people all over the world, a system that will literally take off in front of you.

Your Tasks:

• As Avionics System Engineer you will develop requirement specifications on the system, subsystem and component level 
• You will develop technical design descriptions for suppliers and subcontractors for your system 
• Moreover, you will support the development of company development standards according to ARP 4754A 
• You will make sure your system is reaching quality and certification standards by supporting qualification and certification activities for your system 

• Good communication and negotiation skills 
• Good knowledge of system engineering process in accordance with ARP 4754A 
• Knowledge of bus standards like Arinc 429, Arinc 825 
• Knowledge of requirement management tools like doors or integrity 
• Experience working in a design organization environment according to EASA Part 21
• Knowledge of software development in accordance with DO-178
• Knowledge of hardware development in accordance with DO-254
