Company Description
Providing a quality employee experience is essential to the success of Volo Cities. The Senior Manager of Part-Time Staff Development will play a vital role in this success through the management of our part-time staffing cycle, development of national resources for our local training teams, facilitated training sessions, and evaluations. This role will work closely with our local staffing and training leads to ensure our part-time employees have an amazing Volo experience.
Schedule: Ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Part-time and volunteer training will be in the evenings outside traditional business hours.
Location: Baltimore, MD preferred; remote optional but may require additional travel
Travel: The ability to travel to different Volo cities is required, up to 40% of the time.

Job Description
This role is for you if you are passionate about developing people, believe in the power of play, and enjoy gathering performance data. The nature of this position centers around our part-time employees who deliver on our player experience standards. Our business is out on the field, so be prepared to spend time out at leagues interacting with our players and our staff. You will coach our local staffing leads on building a vibrant host community dedicated to delivering the best player experience. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Standardizing platforms and resources to ensure strategic programmatic growth
Use project management tools to structure, assign, and keep staffing leads on track throughout their part time staff management cycle
Establish and implement local recruitment, training, evaluation, and culture best practices for our part-time employees
Implement local milestones to track progress and identify needs
Develop and set metrics and tracking to ensure teams are performing to the Volo Standard
Centralized staff training and development for part-time staff, volunteers, and interns
Design and develop training content and learning plans based on the Volo Playbook for part-time staff, volunteers and interns
Work with City Managing Directors, Staffing Managers, and Volunteer Coordinators to ensure training needs are identified, planned, aligned and addressed
Adjust/improve curricula for existing products based on product changes and enhancements
Provide in-person support based on city needs, such as part-time staff training and week ones
Recruitment, retention and appreciation efforts for Part-Time staff, Interns and Volunteers.
Forecast training needs, and ensure training resources and facilities are available to meet demands.
Support HR and local teams in identifying staff needs, identifying recruitment strategies and trends, & supporting the recruitment process through interviewing and onboarding new staff.
Evaluative measures to track how cities are performing in their recruitment and training efforts.
Lead initiatives focused on culture and diversity and inclusion as they relate to part-time staff, interns and volunteers
Volo Awards: Part-Time Staff Awards typically hosted in Q4 celebrating the wins of the year recognizing local and national top performers
Volo Games: Part-Time Staff appreciation field day
Qualifications
4-5 years of professional experience ideally in training or sports programming
Familiarity with the social sports industry (as a player or employee) and its typical schedule and calendar
Experience managing a large customer-facing part-time staff workforce
Strong ability to execute in a cross functional and startup environment
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Can marshal resources effectively and comfortably navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, the industry leader in adult recreational sports
Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will be in-office, located near the local team)
COMPENSATION
- Salary $68,500 - $80,000
- Bonus Eligible
