Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Application Packager to join our Workplace team. The successful candidate will be responsible for packaging, testing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications across a modern Windows enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Package, test, and deploy applications for Windows endpoints using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager
  • Create and maintain application packages in formats such as MSI, MSIX, App-V, EXE wrappers, PowerShell-based installers, and Intune Win32 packages
  • Manage the full application lifecycle, including discovery, packaging, testing, deployment, updates, retirement, and documentation
  • Use Patch My PC to manage third-party application updates and improve patch compliance.
  • Troubleshoot application deployment issues across Intune, SCCM, Windows 11
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, desktop engineering, and application owner teams to ensure applications are packaged securely and reliably
  • Perform compatibility testing and remediation for applications running on Windows 11
  • Develop and maintain deployment scripts using PowerShell and other automation tools.
  • Ensure packages follow internal standards, security requirements, and change management processes
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including installation guides, deployment instructions, test results, known issues, and rollback procedures
  • Support application packaging for physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted desktop environments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to automate and standardize application packaging and deployment processes

Qualifications

  • Strong experience as an Application PackagerDesktop Engineer, or similar role in an enterprise IT environment
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of Microsoft SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager application deployment
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, especially Win32 app packaging and deployment.
  • Good knowledge of Patch My PC for third-party application integration, patching and update management
  • Strong understanding of Windows 11 operating system architecture, configuration, and application compatibility
  • Experience with application packaging technologies such as:
    • MSI / MST
    • MSIX
    • IntuneWin packages
    • PowerShell deployment scripts
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell and PSADT
  • Good understanding of Windows registry, file system permissions, environment variables, and user profiles
  • Experience troubleshooting deployment logs, including SCCM client logs, Intune Management Extension logs, and Windows event logs
  • Knowledge of endpoint management, device compliance, and software update processes.
  • Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Windows 365
  • Ability to work in a structured ITIL / change management environment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
