Job Description

The accountant position is a key role, reporting to the Accounting Manager based in Rotterdam.

The accountant will have responsibility for:

  • Book keeping for Vitol companies using Vitol proprietary systems
  • Month and end year closing for Vitol companies
  • Financial reports preparation (Dutch statutory accounts, management accounts)
  • Preparing for and participating in annual audits
  • Analytical review of Balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Monthly intercompany reconciliations, proposing and arranging Interco settlements
  • Calculation and booking of intercompany interests
  • Reconciliation with clearing-house accounts
  • Booking and request of invoices payment
  • Booking of cash transactions and reconciliations of bank balances
  • Review and follow-up of overdue invoices
  • Invoicing of intercompany service agreements

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience
  • Ideally experience in similar role in trading business, ideally commodity trading
  • Excellent track record in accounting and familiar with IFRS standards
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Fluent in English
