Job Description

Our Financial Reporting Analysts are key members of the accounting and finance organization, with responsibilities that extend well beyond traditional accounting. They are experts on the financial health and performance of Vitol’s Americas legal entities, including trading, renewable asset, and service companies. Their deep understanding of Vitol’s businesses enables them to support acquisitions, business integration, market-readiness efforts, and sales processes, working closely with transaction partners, external providers, and auditors. The team also provides senior management with meaningful analysis and insights that inform regional and global decision-making. Vitol’s Accounting organization offers a dynamic, challenging environment with strong opportunities for growth and development.

Specific Job Duties Include: 

  • Supporting investment and deal teams in new business integration and/or sales processes
  • Regularly engaging in discussions with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and monitor/improve financial controls
  • Performing the accounting month-end close processes for various legal entities
  • Regularly engaging with accounting teams in all North and South America offices including Mexico City, Bogota, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires
  • Performing monthly/quarterly analyses to be reviewed by the CEO and Senior Management team to aid in decision making
  • Supporting the annual external audit process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related field
  • CPA license
  • 2+ years of experience in audit or technical accounting, preferably from a Big 4 (public) firm
  • Exposure to the energy/commodity trading industry is preferred
