VBunkers is 100% owned by Vitol, an expert bunker tanker manager and operator with extensive experience of physical bunker supplies in the port of Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering port, and a fleet of 18 modern Singapore flagged bunker tankers. 

Job Description

  • Attend to vessels to verify health, safety standards and execution of environmental protection policy onboard.
  • Guide vessel in compliance to Company’s policies, international rules & regulations and oil major’s requirement.  
  • Advise on changes in legislation and/or industry best practices and submit recommendations for approval.
  • Proposal amendments of company’s SMS manuals for approval.
  • Conduct annual internal Safety Inspection (Marine) and Navigational Audit on board vessels.
  • Conduct Internal ISM audit and co-ordinate external ISM/ISPS/MLC audit on board vessels.
  • Guide vessel in preparation of SIRE Inspection and carry out pre-vetting on board prior to the inspection.
  • Arrange and attend to vessel SIRE inspection and follow up with rectification report within due dates for approval.
  • Follow up vessel’s PSC/FSC inspection and any other external inspection/surveys (Terminal Inspection, P&I survey, Banker Inspection etc.).
  • Conduct investigate and report for marine incident, accident, casualty and customers complaints, as required.
  • Implement and monitor corrective actions for any Non-Conformance relating to health, safety and environment protection.
  • Evaluate Master and sea staff’s performance via internal inspection onboard and proposal actions to be taken.
  • Conduct crew interview as crewing department requested.
  • Prepare relevant TMSA element upload as assigned.
  • Monitor and process vessels routine reports.  
  • Monitor vessels deficiency report, especially for critical equipment to ensure deficiencies are timely close-out.
  • Carry out sales & purchase inspections and tasks related to taking over vessels and newbuilding, as assigned.
  • Arrange for vessel safety equipment service (life rafts, fire-fighting appliances etc.) within due dates.
  • Monitor and supply vessel operations related equipment service (cargo hoses, fenders, mooring ropes, UTI etc.).
  • Verify all deck repairs, stores, maintenance and servicing quotation/invoices for approval.
  • Controlling of budget of deck store, spares and repair.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Marine Manager.

Qualifications

  • COC Class 1 or 2 holders with sailing experience on oil tankers.
  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Marine Superintendent in ship management operations.
  • Foreign going chief officer with sea experience preferred. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and good organization skills
  • Analytical, able to work independently, results-oriented, resourceful, and pro-active.
