Job Description
The Trading and Commercial Operator plays - a key role - in our company and is responsible for the operation and execution of the trading contracts, taking over the operation from the trader.
Some of the responsibilities are:
- Completing trade transactional follow-up with counterparties
- Day to day operation of contracts (issuance, checking, amendments and follow-up)
- Preparing, checking, amending and follow-up of finance documents; documentary credits, bid bonds, payment undertaking, invoices etc.
- Preparing vessel's nominations and documentary instructions: Bills of Lading (BL), customs documents, etc.
- Negotiating key logistical and commercial terms
- Assisting in P&L control by managing operational changes in the systems
- Quantity and quality issue resolution
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have all of the experience points referenced below; however, the role is somewhat unique in where it sits between typical trading operations and back office, therefore we appreciate that some candidates may have the occasional gap.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with physical operations or logistics (both shipping and quality issues)
- Experience in commodity trading, oil, logistics and shipping are especially valued
- Knowledge about GTCs, contracts, letters of credit
- Trade finance knowledge is a plus
- Good command of English (Dutch is a plus)
- A screening, certificate of conduct (“VOG verklaring”) and assessment can be a part of the selection process to identify whether your skills in these and other critical areas match the job requirements.
