Job Description
The Trading and Commercial Operator plays - a key role - in our company and is responsible for the operation and execution of the trading contract, taking over the operation from the trader.
Some of the responsibilities are:
- Completing trade transactional follow-up with counterparties
- Day to day operation of contracts (issuance, checking, amendments and follow-up)
- Preparing, checking, amending and follow-up of finance documents; documentary credits, bid bonds, payment undertaking, invoices etc.
- Preparing vessel's nominations and documentary instructions (B/L’s, C of Origin, customs documents)
- Negotiating key logistical and commercial terms
- Assisting in P&L control by managing operational changes in the systems
- Quantity and quality issue resolution
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have all of the experience points referenced below, however, the role is somewhat unique in where it sits between typical trading operations and back office, therefore we appreciate that some candidates may have the occasional gap
- Minimum 3 years of experience with physical operations or logistics (both shipping and quality issues)
- Experience in Dry bulk vessel operations is an advantage
- Experience in commodity trading, oil, logistics and shipping
- Knowledge about GTCs, contracts, letters of credit, etc.
- Trade finance knowledge is a plus
- Advanced excel skills is required
- Fluent in English is a must
