Job Description

Commercial Analyst is a key role within Vitaro Energy, enabling future candidates to develop basic analytical skills, leverage and develop the company's Vista management reporting and risk management system, and integrate into the Vitaro/Vitol culture and organization.

General responsibilities:

Ensuring detailed knowledge of the product portfolio;

  • Correctly and transparently documenting the product portfolio, the structure of contracts and how they are managed (selling a product in line with the Company's systems, processes, operational procedures and flows).
  • Daily monitoring of product portfolio in terms of market risk, price exposures, inventory, payment, Pnl etc - correction, analysis, feedback to Management, Commercial and Operational Departments.
  • Accuracy of the MTM, data, stocks, various operations in the system (stock, roll-in/out, monitoring, budget checking, correction if necessary) and understanding and reporting of inadequacies, risks, weaknesses of portfolio positions.
  • Development of analyses related to costs, profitability, risk analysis, forecasting (for specific transactions or a portfolio).
  • Ensuring good collaboration with the Commercial Department and the Operational Department on contracts and how they are carried out as well as good collaboration with the Finance Department on monthly closures (positions, stocks, budgets).
  • Accurate presentation of key profit and risk items to Management

The regular, daily or on-request compilation of the;

  • Reports to Management on the portfolio (acquisitions, sales, estimates, PnL).
  • Presentations, estimates, modelling for new products or structures - coordinating and understanding how these can be implemented (risk, credit, transaction structure, operational flow).
  • Create and maintain good collaboration with the Legal, Commercial, Operational and Credit Departments to ensure correctness, efficiency and optimization of transactions.
  • Create and maintain good collaboration with both internal Vitaro departments and the Vitol Group to optimize, configure and facilitate daily processes.
  • Ensuring a good and comprehensive understanding of the Vitol Group's systems, how they work, their interdependencies and functionalities.

Qualifications

  • University degree in economics/finance
  • Experience in the required field - minimum 2-3 years
  • Knowledge/education/experience in financial analysis and risk analysis, financial planning and modelling, commodity trading
  • Good IT skills
  • Excel - intermediate-advanced level
  • Knowledge of VBA, Python and R/Matlab
  • Knowledge of English at an advanced level, any additional international language is an advantage
  • Willingness to relocate for medium periods (1-3 months)
