We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Project Engineer to join our dynamic team at VEV. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of decarbonisation projects across Europe. Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful execution of projects, from initial planning through to completion and beyond. As the Lead Project Engineer, you will have a multifaceted role encompassing safety, quality, engineering, cost control, and schedule management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse range of decarbonisation projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and meeting the highest quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project life cycle, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution.
•  Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, risk management, and contingency plans.
•  Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular project reviews to evaluate progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
•  Manage and mentor a team of engineers and project coordinators, providing guidance and support to maximize their performance and foster professional development.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to decarbonisation projects.

•  Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
•  Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the low carbon energy sector, with a focus on solar, battery, EV, construction, and operational projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, managing multiple workstreams, and achieving project objectives.
• Strong technical knowledge of decarbonisation technologies, systems integration, and renewable energy solutions.
• Excellent understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• APM or PMI qualification is beneficial.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance to accomplish project goals.
• Problem-solving skills and the capacity to think strategically in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel across Europe to project sites as required.
