Job Description

The  Project manager’s  responsibility is to ensure that all project steps are recorded and monitored from initial order, implementation, through to finalisation and sign off.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate daily schedule for all building projects, including daily planning of labour and resources

  • Management of labour - Ensuring sufficient resources (internal labour or sub-contractors) for projects

  • Arrangement of fabrication, procurement and expediting of material and or labour as required

  • Supervise projects as required

  • Performing adjusting and commissioning work on projects as per EN81-20/ SANS regulations

  • Provide technical assistance to Vision construction staff and subcontractors

  • To perform ad hoc site inspections

  • Supervision, inspection and sign off of work completed on projects in order for payments to be processed

  • Management of costs – ensure project is completed according to specification, program and budget

  • Management of health and safety requirements – prepare and update on site H&S file and ensure clean audit. Liaise with inhouse safety officer and local consultants to ensure projects are done safely and in accordance with Vision safe working procedures.

  • Attendance at site meetings

  • Ensuring work is done according to regulations governing the type of equipment

  • Liaising with on site foreman and contractors

  • Identification and solving of problems in conjunction with design team in order to prevent project impact

  • Ensuring notices to clients and subcontractors are sent timeously

  • Provide daily reports of the various projects

  • Quality control

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience on large scale mechanical construction

  • Previous technical lift experience (adjusting and commissioning)

  • Organised individual and able to organise others

  • Strong leader who can motivate staff

  • Driver personality

  • Meticulous and detail oriented - wants the job done right the first time

  • 2-5 years construction industry experience

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Qualified Lift Mechanic 

  • High Driver - Ambitious, Results Orientated Go-getter. Self-Starter. Makes things happen. Pays special attention to detail.

  • Moderate Analytical - Strong with analysis, metrics, data and fact based decision making.

  • Moderate Expressive - People person, charming, persuasive.
