Job Description

The employee’s main responsibility will be for the installation of various elevator units. With the above in mind, the employee is to ensure that all work completed in any situation is completed safely, correctly and neatly. The employee will also be responsible for ensuring that any person working with him on site works in a safe and correct manner. The employee must take a leadership role on site. The employee may be required to conduct other works in the best interest of the company. 

Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components and to select the
equipment needed for installation or repair
• Assemble elevator cars, installing each car’s platform, walls, and doors
• Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors
• Test newly installed equipment to ensure that it meets specifications
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems
• Dismantle elevator or escalator units in order to gain access to remove and replace defective
parts, using hoists, ladders, and hand/power tools
• Repair and/or replace, by means of sending requisitions, faulty components in order to return
elevator to fully operational status

 

Qualifications

Matric

Addition lift installation qualification will be an advantage
