Job Description

As a Sr. UX Designer, you will work closely with the project management and development teams on a variety of initiatives for a mix of clients. You will help to form the vision for interactive design solutions, collaborating with our internal teams and key client stakeholders. You’ll need to be resourceful and hustle under pressure; must be able to work smart through adversity and deadlines. You may be asked to work with junior members of the UX team to help guide, grow and educate them as necessary.

You’ll be the perfect candidate for this role if you have experience in:

  • Leading complex projects successfully from ideation to launch collaborating with others appropriately along the way

  • Generating innovative and breakthrough ideas for clients

  • Confidently presenting material and sharing ideas with senior clients or client groups

  • Crafting a narrative to help communicate the rationale for design approach with senior stakeholders

  • Working closely with the project managers and senior team to develop project vision

  • Building websites that meet AA or AAA level WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards

  • Translating user needs and business requirements into features

Some things we’ll ask you to do are:

  • Generate deliverables that are thorough, concise, and well-designed including research reports, personas, user journeys, user stories, conceptual models, sitemaps or information architecture, annotated wireframes, prototypes and occasionally UI elements

  • Document and translate concepts, ideas, and visions into functional design

  • Validate the needs of current and targeted customers through quantitative & qualitative customer research

  • Create user test plans and execute various types of user testing

  • Test and refine flows with internal & external stakeholders

  • Work with the design team to define and refine the patterns, templates and components that are used across the website ensuring they meet accessibility requirements

  • Focus on project metrics and help guide optimization efforts after launch

You must have the following:

  • 5+ years of related industry experience working as a UX Designer

  • Diploma or degree in digital design, interaction design or communications (or equivalent)

  • Proficiency in UX design and documentation applications (wireframing, prototype development) such as Sketch and InVision

  • A working knowledge of front-end technologies, including CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript

  • Portfolio with projects demonstrating process (conceptualization through realization) and design justification a must

  • Strong conceptual and visual communication skills

  • An up to date eligible passport with a willingness to travel within Canada, USA and Europe

Bonus points if you have these things:

  • Able to demonstrate experience in various user research techniques (gaining insight on user groups or different demographics)
