Role Overview
The Director, Global Product Communications will help lead external communications for Visa’s products, platforms, and partner ecosystem, shaping how Visa tells its consumer and B2B product and innovation story.
Reporting into the Senior Director of Global Product Communications, this role is responsible for translating complex product and technology innovation into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with consumer, developer, business and payments industry audiences.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in consumer product, B2B, and partner communications with knowledge of payments technology and AI, strong media instincts, a highly collaborative work style, and the ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
This role requires close day‑to‑day partnership with global and regional communications teams and business partners to ensure consistent storytelling while enabling regional flexibility, relevance, and executional excellence across markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support global external communications for Visa’s product, platform, and technology portfolio, in close partnership with Product, Technology, Strategy and Business teams.
- Ability to lead global product launches end-to-end. Develop strategic, integrated communications plans, and manage the socialization, execution and measurement.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and media narratives to inform strategy.
- Identify proactive opportunities to connect product and partner news to broader industry trends, like AI and other emerging technologies, and Visa wide priorities to drive higher impact storytelling.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and emerging media including top tier business, AI, technology, fintech, trade media, podcasts and substacks.
- Support senior-level executive spokespeople with messaging, briefing materials, and media preparation.
- Work cross functionally with Global Communications, Marketing, Legal, and Business partners to deliver aligned, high impact communications.
- Manage agency partners including performance measurement and reporting.
- Ensure all communications meet brand, legal, and reputational standards.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 8–12+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or journalism, with a strong focus on Consumer, B2B, product, technology, or partner communications.
- Proven experience working with business, technology and fintech media.
- Strong understanding of both earned media and social media as complementary storytelling channels.
- Practical experience using AI powered tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day communications work.
- Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong editorial judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Agency and in‑house experience preferred.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 153,600 to 273,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
