Job Description
The Senior Manager, Visa Government Solutions (VGS) for commercialization serves will support the execution of VGS’s commercialization for the public sector, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Commercialization. This role will be responsible for translating strategy into action—driving partner execution, sales enablement, pricing support, and launch readiness across priority government use cases.
Reporting to the Senior Director, this role focuses on translating public‑sector strategy into execution—driving government‑specific solutions, ecosystem pre-sales, and cross‑functional delivery across priority use cases.
The role will partner closely with Sales, Product, Solutioning, Pricing, and regional teams to support government opportunities, accelerate launches, and strengthen Visa’s position as core infrastructure for public‑sector payment and money‑movement flows. Based in Miami, the role is responsible for supporting the ecosystem strategy, defining product requirements, and delivering solutions that address payment, purchasing, expense, and accounts payable needs for public sector clients.
Responsibilities:
- Execute commercialization initiatives for government and public‑sector clients across priority use cases.
- Support development and optimization of VGS solutions, including government‑specific features, new use cases, and solution enhancements.
- Partner with CMS Market Heads and cross‑functional regional and local teams to ensure alignment of government strategy, positioning, and execution.
- Support public‑sector business development by shaping government‑relevant value propositions and enabling partners with scalable solutions.
- Work closely with solutioning and technical teams to ensure solutions meet government functional, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate across global, regional, and local stakeholders to deliver consistent, compliant, and scalable public‑sector solutions.
- Support country‑level public‑sector strategies through market analysis, business cases, and execution support.
- Develop executive‑level materials and insights to support leadership decision‑making and commercialization progress.
Essential Functions:
- Identify new opportunities—including enablers, govtechs, new business lines with existing issuers, and support the head of commercialization in prioritization and execution of initiatives with the LAC team.
- Engage directly with clients—including govtechs, public sector clients, issuers, acquirers to understand needs and pain points and opportunities.
- Execute the VGS roadmap, delivering against commercial objectives across all solution types and use cases in the region.
- Serve as the regional SME for govtechs, using data, insights, and market research to understand and share key competitive trends and performance across verticals.
- Identify product and capability gaps, assess market readiness, and work with internal stakeholders to prioritize, schedule, and communicate new solution releases.
- Collaborate with local teams, VGS and VCS sales, and Product & Platforms to ensure alignment of strategy and product direction across the LAC region.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to research and evaluate new business opportunities and segments.
- Define and maintain operating models with partners for specific verticals or use cases.
- Manage identified gaps and follow‑up actions with Product teams through launch and market communication, leveraging internal stakeholders and established process.
- Leverage internal teams and governance to leverage Compliance, Legal, Risk, Technology, Marketing, Client Readiness, and other teams to ensure coordinated delivery and execution.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- Experience in the payments industry, with understanding of revenue drivers, commercial payments and public‑sector use cases strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of government payment flows, including G2B and G2C.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently, prioritize workstreams, and adapt quickly in a fast‑changing environment.
- Experience working on complex, cross‑functional initiatives with senior and junior stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and competitive assessments.
- Ability to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and deliver client‑focused solutions that drive measurable business impact.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for executive audiences.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required, Portuguese a plus.
- Familiarity with Visa products and platforms, including virtual cards, payables automation, APIs, data‑driven solutions, and commercial payment platforms.
- Collaborative, self‑starter mindset with a creative and innovative approach to solution development.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 143,700.00 to 230,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
