Visa’s People Technology team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Automation with strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, Digital Process Automation, and Generative AI, combined with hands‑on experience in IT Operations, Application Support, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).
This role focuses on designing and scaling intelligent automations while also ensuring operational stability, security, compliance, and resilience of People Technology applications. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure, security, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Engineering
- Design, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Virtual Agents / Copilot Studio) and Generative AI
- Build intelligent process orchestrations integrating low‑code workflows, RPA, APIs, and AI‑driven components
- Apply Power Platform architectural best practices, including governance, security, scalability, and environment strategy
- Develop and deploy RPA components, including bots, connectors, logging, monitoring, and code repositories
- Support solution rollout, hyper‑care, and operational stability of deployed automations
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation, including solution designs, UML diagrams, and process maps
- Ensure automation quality through testing, validation, and QA processes
- Partner with business stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans
- Promote reusability, modular design, and performance optimization
- Integrate systems using SFTP, HTTP, SMTP, REST/SOAP, and enterprise APIs
- Measure and report automation KPIs and ROI, driving continuous improvement
- Stay current with emerging trends in Power Platform, RPA, and Generative AI
IT Operations & Application Support
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 application support for assigned People Technology systems
- Develop and maintain IT Configuration Management practices and methodologies
- Administer configuration and asset management tools, ensuring CMDB accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Manage server patching for operating systems and middleware in coordination with Infrastructure teams
- Plan, schedule, and execute vulnerability remediation activities using tools such as Qualys
- Monitor, identify, and report unauthorized or non‑compliant changes to configuration items
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Platform, and Security teams to support evolving technical requirements
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Participate in internal and external audits and remediate audit findings for assigned applications
- Ensure compliance with Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Data Privacy policies using approved enterprise tools
- Conduct application risk assessments and maintain security and privacy documentation
- Support operational resiliency planning, including:
- Disaster recovery and failover strategies
- Service impact and dependency assessments
- Business continuity readiness
Application Ownership
- Serve as Application Technology Coordinator (ATC) for assigned systems
- Ensure ongoing compliance, configuration accuracy, and data quality
- Act as a key coordination point between engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in operational maturity, reliability, and automation
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field
- Proven hands‑on experience in automation engineering or software development, with strong low‑code expertise
- Experience delivering enterprise‑scale automation and application support solutions
Key Skills Needed
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Copilot / Power Virtual Agents)
- Experience building task and process automations using low‑code / no‑code platforms
- Exposure to Generative AI use cases (AI‑assisted workflows, prompt engineering, document processing, chatbots, copilots)
- Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIs
- Solid understanding of workflow‑based logic and process orchestration
- Experience with SQL, data transformation, and basic data modeling
- Understanding of object‑oriented concepts and relational databases
- Strong knowledge of IT operations processes (incident, change, configuration, vulnerability management)
- Familiarity with IAM, security, privacy, and compliance requirements
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to produce clear technical specifications and solution documentation
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Customer‑centric mindset with a strong sense of ownership
