Commercial and Money Movement Solutions is one of the 3 key growth pillars for achieving Visa’s 2030 vision and is focused on capturing the $200T+ opportunity across P2P, B2C, B2B, and G2C.  This team is responsible for managing payment flows/solutions across three segments: Business Solutions (Visa Commercial Solutions - VCS), Government/Public Sector Undertakings (Visa Government Solutions - VGS), and Global Money Movement (Visa Direct – VD).

The Senior Director Head of CMS WCA will be responsible for scaling the CMS business across the WCA markets in line with Visa 2030 ambitions and shape CMS sales strategies across VCS, VGS, and VD. This is a leadership position which will sit on both the CMS and WCA LT, reporting to the head of CMS CEMEA.

Job Description

  • Establishment and execution of near and long-term strategies that accelerates our Commercial and Money Movement business across in West and Central Africa sub region, covering Business & Corporate, Money Movement, and Government Solutions
  • Develop and execute sales strategies / account plans to increase sales volume and market share, expand product category visibility and exceed defined product and corporate objectives
  • Lead seamless client engagements along with the sales team to drive expansion across CMS solutions and segments
  • Carry P&L responsibility for CMS in WCA – manage financial forecasts and short and long term financial operating plans to maximize growth, meet quarterly and annual financial targets, and ensure that resources are dedicated to the most appropriate business initiatives
  • Deliver market relevant solutions for Large Corporates, Small Businesses, Middle Market Enterprise, Fintechs, and Governments  
  • Work closely with the local leadership team, regional and global teams to deliver the plan across CMS in WCA
  • Work with CMS Product teams to develop the go-to-market strategy and ensure we have the right value proposition and product construct to meet client needs
  • Drive thought leadership and development with issuers, acquirers, technology partners and emerging alternative providers.
  • Develop and lead a high caliber team of sales specialists, set smart targets and OKRs and offer regular oversight feedback and assessment.   
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders like Marketing, Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), Merchant Sales Acquiring (MSA), Country teams (Account Executives), Government Engagement team (GE), Customer Service (CS) and Finance teams etc. to drive CMS business
  • Provide ongoing support of RFP development / response and overseeing program performance
  • Continuously review market landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new creative approaches to growing the Visa CMS business

Qualifications

• Strong business development and consultative sales experience, with the ability to educate a wide range of stakeholders on Visa’s capabilities, clearly business oriented and able to push business development and produce business cases
• Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in the Commercial Cards and/or Corporate Banking / Transaction banking FI sales. Familiarity with remittance and money-movement business and basic understanding of how public sector sales and public agencies operate is a plus.
• Deep understanding of current B2B payment trends, regulatory environment and current market landscape and gaps
• Experience of working on digital solutions in the FI, MNO, or fintech space.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross functional and cross regional teams
• Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example
• Successful track record of stakeholder management and ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organization
• A passion and energy for people management and people development
• Preferably a Master of Business degree
