Job Description

Team Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager, Malaysia role will help drive transactions and grow revenues for Malaysia through the planning and effective implementation of marketing strategies. This includes driving Country Priorities and Marketing Value Added Services with Client Banks and Merchant Partners.

You will work as a key member of the Malaysia Country Team as well as part of the SMT (SG/MY/TH) cluster to accelerate business growth, with a P&L mindset focused on optimizing performance and marketing investment. You will drive customer centricity within the organization by understanding the evolving payment ecosystem and changing consumer needs.

You will report to the Head of Marketing, Malaysia.

Details of the Role

Brand, Solutions & Campaign Management

Locally develop or adapt global/regional marketing & product campaigns to serve local needs in driving revenue, building new solutions for clients and consumers.

  • Implement and execute local marketing plans for Malaysia market to achieve key business metrics based on country priorities, working collaboratively across functions
  • Drive awareness of Global / Regional marketing assets and ability to leverage & localize in an effective and cost-efficient way
  • Localize and activate sponsorship portfolio of global platforms including FIFA & Olympics and local partnerships. Evaluate effectiveness and communicate outcomes, learnings and best practice
  • Analysis of data on brand tracking, transactions and specific consumer, product and in-market research to build local marketing plans, performance evaluation and plan adjustment
  • Ensure plans are developed in close collaboration with Corporate Communications, clearly documented and aligned with and effectively communicated to all stakeholders
  • Work with SMT Digital Media Lead to plan and execute data and digital driven consumer communications plans for local consumer facing and client facing executions
  • Manage, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Develop agency scope of work based on annual plans
  • Drive excellence in project and operational management
  • Provide regular status reports to Head of Marketing, Malaysia, SMT Marketing Services Director and Country Manager

Client Marketing

  • Driving and supporting our clients’ (Banks, Fintechs, Merchants) payments marketing initiatives with Visa’s marketing advisory and solutions
  • Aligning to Visa’s client-centric sales methodology and working with the Malaysia Marketing team to strategize and propose impactful and relevant marketing programs (B2B / B2C) to drive business revenue for our clients
  • Ability to deliver against revenue goals would be one of the key performance indicators for this role.
    1. Prospecting – analyzing client needs, ideating, and developing subsequent plans of activity to meet the client’s needs
    2. Scoping – agree pricing and scope with client, contracting and documentation
    3. Implementation – implement solutions with client and internal teams
    4. Reporting – delivery against objectives – customer satisfaction and retention
  • Communicate annual / quarterly marketing plans to clients with regular updates at formal meetings
  • Work extensively with local country cross-functional teams (i.e. Client Relationship, Fintech and Sellers, Product, Visa Consulting and Analytics), as well as AP client marketing team, to support client marketing planning development and execution

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of proven experience of related consumer & client marketing management roles
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Management / Marketing or equivalent
  • Vision and passion for our business, with high energy and intelligence

  • Proven experience in being part of great creative work development process, support effective agency management process across creative, media, digital, and below the line activities
  • Strong project management skills and analytical thinking
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrates proven ability to work with clients across existing and new partners
  • Experience working in complex, cross-functional projects / teams across internal and external organizations
  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a challenging, fast-paced environment
