Visa Direct (VD) is Visa’s real-time money movement platform that enables fast, secure, and convenient transfers across the globe. It is designed for businesses, financial institutions, and consumers to send and receive funds directly to eligible debit cards, prepaid cards, bank accounts, or digital wallets using Visa’s global network.
Comprised of key capabilities such as collect, convert, hold and pay, Visa Direct redefines the landscape of global cross-border payments. These capabilities are offered to Visa’s financial institutions, financial technology providers (FinTechs), enablers and remitter clients across the region allowing them to move money seamlessly across the globe accessing Visa’s extensive payout network. This payout network enables customers via 50+ use cases and access to end-points such as cards, accounts and wallets in 195 countries.

What a Senior Director, Head of Visa Direct, Greater China does at Visa:
Visa is looking for an experienced and passionate business leader to lead our Visa Direct team across the Greater China cluster. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who can develop and execute the regional sales strategy to ensure the business realizes its short term performance KPIs while laying the foundations for long term growth across the region. The leader will need to drive the following:
- Develop and deploy the multi-year strategy to ensure growth and synergies across all VD portfolios and target segments across the Greater China region.
- Be responsible for achieving financial targets and key metrics i.e. maintaining and growing market share across segment/product portfolios. Deliver these outcomes via building a healthy pipeline of deals by developing strong client relationships and accelerating time to revenue.
- Manage a team that will deliver on their localized market/segment business plans, target and drive new revenues, identify client needs and ensure deployment of solutions
- Lead seamless client engagements along with the sales team to drive Visa Direct growth with clients
- Identify and scale partnerships to capture new flows, deploy new business models and solutions in market
- Work closely with the local leadership team, regional and global teams to deliver the plan for VD Greater China – effectively navigate a matrix organization to ensure all stakeholders are kept aligned, informed and supportive of the business direction
- Set joint objectives and support performance targets for the function based on a strategic plan built with the Asia Pacific VD leadership team as well as the Greater China CMS leadership team. The candidate will be a part of the Greater China Leadership Team.
- Be an advocate for the business in the market, engage in forums across Greater China and participate in conferences, networking events and proprietary Visa events to drive market/client engagement

Commercial and Money movement Solutions (CMS) is a key element of Visa’s vision to penetrate payment flows beyond consumer card flows and, with a mostly untapped opportunity, it has a tremendous growth potential. VD as part of the CMS flow will drive a significant portion of the growth.
This business rests on growing the penetration in the business and money movement segments, drawing in potential clients into the network, helping issuers address critical market demands of payments across small, medium and large organizations, while digitizing new payment flows for domestic and cross-border use cases. We not only support card-based payments, but, as a payment service provider, are moving towards serving the needs for non-card based payments as well, and providing other value added service. We are committed towards building a viable and committed payment ecosystem of payments worldwide.
You will:
- Sit within Greater China CMS leadership team.
- Lead a key business pillar of growth for Visa
- Grow payments ecosystem that offers both card based and non-card based solutions
- Partner with cross functional teams across regional and global VD, Products, Merchant Sales & Acquiring, Client Services, and all supporting functions to drive Greater China VD initiatives
- Formulate Greater China VD strategies for both short term and long term with the alignment with CMS leadership on market specific strategic priorities & execute them with a full ownership and accountability
- Identify and develop new business cases, partnership models, capabilities to capture new flows across all segments under VD
- Leverage appropriate Visa VD assets and product management resources to deliver exceptional value to all stakeholders in payment ecosystem
- Actively contribute to achieve Greater China key Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
- Serve as a key spokesperson and voice for VD Greater China
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience in top tier financial institutions/banks, fintechs, enablers or payment networks
• Strong experience in the Transaction Banking and/or Cash Management (payments and collections), global money movements, remittance business.
• Good understanding of fintech landscapes and developments in Greater China.
• Good understanding of Greater China payment infrastructure RTP/RTGS systems includes CHATS or CIPS and regulatory landscape
• Excellent business acumen on P/L management, finance, capital markets, economics over multi-stakeholder deals
• Ability to formulate market specific action plan, and drive for executing the strategies against the timeline
• Deep understanding of B2B payment trends, regulatory environment, current market landscape and gaps
• Willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment
• Successful track record of stakeholder management and ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organization
• Strong experience working directly with and influencing clients
• Ability to develop a team and work effectively with cross-functional and cross regional teams
• Outstanding people leader with a track record of building high performing teams through coaching, a commitment to developing talent and building a strong succession pipeline.
• Good knowledge of product management and development, data driven insights and finance
• Preferably a Masters of Business degree
• Proficient English communication skills is a must. Mandarin and Cantonese Speaking preferred.
