Job Description

Visa’s Internship Program provides an immersive, 12-week journey where you’ll work on impactful projects that drive Visa’s mission forward. As a Visa intern, you’ll build valuable connections across the organization, sharpen your communication and business acumen, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.

The IAM infrastructure at Visa enables a series of policy driven aggregation and centralization technologies for identities, business processes, and entitlements that allow and promote operational efficiencies and agility while governing access and supporting the level of risk acceptable by the enterprise.

The successful candidate will bring an understanding of the Identity and Access Management domain, Unix/Linux/Windows platforms and Database technologies to assure software quality in a fast-paced environment. This position will have the responsibility to deliver end-to-end software testing function - from creating test plans/test cases, test-execution and defect management to UAT and post-implementation support. The position will involve working with offshore and contractor resources.


Some job duties and projects could include:

  • Collaborate with developers and QA leads to improve testability, automation, and tools
  • Work with the team to increase the test coverage
  • Execute testing during all stages of development and release cycle
  • Work with QA leads to improve effectiveness of test automation
  • Design and execute test plans, scenarios and scripts
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
  • Define test parameters, design tests, interpret test results and analyze test trends
  • Coordinate with offshore development and test teams​

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field with a graduation date in December 2026-August 2027
  •  Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment.  

  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology including, but not limited, to Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, python

  • Experience with Write utilities / automation tools using Selenium, Java, REST, Python, Groovy, and more 

  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Quality Assurance processes and methodologies

  • Experience or Knowledge with Browser Testing Experience

  • Experience with test tools such as ALM, soapUI, Jmeter, and Selenium is desirable

  • Data Analytical Ability

  • Experience or Knowledge with SQL, preferable MSSQL

  • Strong ability to collaborate 

  • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented 

  • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $35-$40/hr which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department 

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
