Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintech's, payment enablers and governments.

The Intelligence & Data Solutions (IDS) team at VCA consists of data scientists, analysts, and engineers who provide analytics solutions. Their goal is to leverage VisaNet, one of the largest datasets globally, to help clients enhance their performance and increase profitability.

Job Description

The Data Solution and Engineering team under Visa Consulting & analytics – Data Science is a multidisciplinary group responsible for designing robust data infrastructures, developing innovative machine learning solutions, enforcing data governance standards, and aligning machine learning projects with business objectives to drive business value and revenue generation in Latin America and the Caribbean region. The ideal candidate is a talented professional capable of developing state-of-the-art data solutions and enhancing existing ones to address complex business problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex and scalable Tableau dashboards that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and effective data visualizations.
  • Lead quality assurance (QA) activities for BI solutions, ensuring data accuracy and functionality from design to implementation.
  • Data Cleansing/Wrangling – This involve parsing and aggregating messy, incomplete, and unstructured data sources to produce data sets that can be used in predictive modeling or in dashboards development.
  • Query and handle large datasets from distributed computing environments (e.g., Hadoop, Presto, SQL, Hive) to prepare them for visualization.
  • Optimize Tableau workbook performance by leveraging best practices for handling large volumes of data.
  • Utilize VisaNet data and Visa’s analytical capabilities to develop, standardize, and deploy scalable solutions.
  • Communicate complex concepts and analytical results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop and grow exceptional internal client relationships.
  • Leverage Generative AI Tools to increase the team’s efficiency and the knowledge sharing across the different structures.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 2+ years with an Advanced Degree.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of proven hands-on experience developing and delivering Tableau-driven BI solutions, including dashboards, analytics, and recurring reports.
  • Expertise in data visualization best practices and the ability to create intuitive and impactful dashboards.
  • Strong proficiency in Python/R and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in distributed computing environments / big data platforms (Hadoop, Presto, PySpark, etc.) as well as common database/data warehouse systems (SQL, Hive, etc.).
  • Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of Tableau Workbooks.
  • Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders and tailoring results to various audience levels.
  • Fluency in English (spoken/written).


Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have):
Understanding of Payments and the Banking industry, including card verticals such as consumer credit, consumer debit, prepaid, small business, commercial and co-branded products.
Expert knowledge of data, market intelligence, business intelligence, and AI-driven tools and technologies, with demonstrated ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problems.
Portuguese language skills are a plus.
