Job Description

Our Finance Velocity Office was designed to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance Data Analyst / Reporting & Analytics Senior Business Analyst to enable data-driven decision-making across Finance. This role sits within our Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Team and reports to a Senior Manager responsible for technical requirements and reporting strategy.

You will play a pivotal role in bridging Finance and Technology, understanding business needs, translating them into robust data and reporting logic, and validating outputs through testing and analysis. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking, deep curiosity about data, and the ability to translate complex financial processes into clear, actionable insights. This role will also work closely with our Data Strategy & Governance team to standardize data definitions and establish single sources of truth across Finance.

Essential Functions

  • Translate business questions into data-driven insights. Partner with Finance leaders to understand reporting needs, then design and deliver dashboards and analyses that enable strategic decision-making.
  • Bridge Finance and Technology. Convert high-level business requirements into precise technical logic, ensuring data models, metrics, and calculations align with financial definitions and business outcomes.
  • Own UAT and data validation with purpose. Lead end-user testing and validation of reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and trust in Finance data—focusing on what truly impacts decision-making.
  • Design scalable and intuitive reporting. Build or guide the creation of dashboards that emphasize clarity, automation, and usability, allowing Finance teams to self-serve and explore insights independently.
  • Champion data quality and standardization. Collaborate with the Data Strategy & Governance team to align on definitions, business rules, and metrics across systems to establish single sources of truth.
  • Diagnose and resolve data issues. Investigate anomalies and work cross-functionally to ensure data integrity, closing the loop between system logic and business reporting.
  • Continuously improve how Finance uses data. Identify opportunities to simplify reporting, automate manual processes, and adopt new BI capabilities that enhance efficiency and insight generation.
  • Communicate insights that drive action. Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across levels—translating data into business language and influencing decision-makers.
  • Document and educate. Maintain clear process documentation, data dictionaries, and user guides to support scalable growth and self-service analytics adoption.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of 50% in-office time will be required. Additional details confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle.
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, and Data teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and follow-through skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, accounting, mathematics, economics, statistics, or related quantitative field or 4+ years of relevant experience with an advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+ years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • 6+ years of experience in Finance data analysis, BI reporting, or analytics roles; advanced degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in dashboard design, UAT management, and end-user enablement.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, DAX (Power BI), or similar languages for validation and logic testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous and evolving environments with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset—comfortable influencing without authority.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 116,300.00 to 168,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
