What do we do? The PPD Tools Enablement team supports the VisaNet Integrated Payment (VIP) System by delivering quality services and solutions using best-in-class processes, methodologies, and technology with our worldwide workforce. We are an integral part of Visa and provide VIP Test System support – environment, infrastructure, tools, and overall general user support.to Dev and TE community. The support includes the core setup/execution/compare tools, but also processes that are not user tools, including message extracts and message scrubbing routines. Most of the tools are in support of VIP QA, but we support PARSEMS for Native testing and various specialized message extract requests. The scrubbing routines have set a standard at Visa and have been used by some groups external to VIP.
We are key stakeholder to support annual capacity planning and feed in the test data to TE for supporting Business Releases, quarterly, monthly and weekly projects, maintenance work, as well as multiyear infrastructure projects.

As a Visa Staff Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
The Work itself:
- Execute Z/TPF-related jobs to meet both system maintenance and application processing requirements.
- Contribute to and provide insights on z/VM capacity planning on a quarterly basis, aiming to modernize the process and increase its frequency
- Provide message capture data to Test Engineering for their special regression tests required for new projects.
- Provide regression data sets to Test Engineering, most of the information is sourced from production MVSD/4/5 data pulls, including DTD, CDB files, ALPID, and DRB.
- Capture and prepare test message data for Native Z/TPF testing and maintain and support the PARSEMS message driver.
- Maintain PARSEM and related programs, generally REXX and CMS Pipelines with some Assembler.
- Provide consultancy on the overall database setup and the anticipated modernization of tools and activities such as Logprint LTA, Prod D Capture ensuring a robust and efficient system tailored to meet our specific needs.

Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge of VIP Systems, ISO messages
- Provide expert support for Z/TPF infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge and experience in Z/TPF Development tools, processes, and procedures, operations to guarantee the uninterrupted delivery of service, performance, and availability of multiple Z/TPF test systems.
- Identifies and contributes to the development and solution strategies that improve the design and functionality of PPD tools, under minimal guidance.
- Collaborates with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features
- Analyzes bugs for simple issues and applies debugging tools to verify assumptions.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
•5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
•6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
•Energy and Experience: A growth mindset that is curious and passionate about technologies and enjoys challenging projects on a global scale
•Challenge the Status Quo: Comfort in pushing the boundaries, ‘hacking’ beyond traditional solutions
•Language Expertise:
•Expertise in VM/REXX, CMS Pipelines, IBM Assembler
•Preferred experience in C/C++, and Linux - bash scripting, mySQ, Python
•Knowledge of ISO, JSON, and financial messages.
•Proficiency in z/Z/TPF Mainframe and supporting systems such as z/VM and Z/OS (MVS)
•Basic Qualifications: 8 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD)
•Builder: Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
•Learner: Constant drive to learn new technologies and able to prioritize work and maintain focus.
•Partnership: Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, hands-on, and a team player and has experience collaborating with Test, Dev-ops, Development teams
•Aptitude: Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills. Strong ability in root cause analysis of issues, resolving testing issues, and driving issues to closure.
•Result Oriented: Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
