Job Description
Role Summary:
Visa is seeking a visionary and execution-driven Director of Product Management to lead our commercial B2B payments APIs. This role will define and drive the roadmap for Visa’s next-generation API ecosystem, that are used by clients and partners enabling secure, scalable, and seamless integration with banking, procurement, ERP, CRM, and expense management platforms.
As the leader of this initiative, you will own the strategy, delivery, and adoption of APIs that empower partners and developers to embed Visa virtual cards as the payment method of choice. You will drive developer experiences, ensuring our APIs are intuitive, easy to adopt, well-documented, and optimized for performance, availability, and security.
AI will be a core differentiator in this role — from automating integration workflows to powering intelligent developer tooling — enabling faster, more personalized, and more reliable partner and customer integrations at scale. You will work with internal stakeholders, partners and customers, and the broader developer community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Execution
Lead a team of product managers in defining the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Visa’s B2B payments APIs, balancing developer experience, business impact, and technical excellence.
Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases that power API capabilities across Visa’s own solutions, and ERP, CRM, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), vertical SaaS (e.g., construction, healthcare), and expense platforms (e.g., Concur, Expensify).
Establish and track KPIs for API adoption, developer satisfaction, uptime, latency, and integration speed.
Partner with technology, architecture, security, and compliance leaders to ensure APIs meet enterprise-grade standards for security, scalability, performance, reliability, and compliance.
Integration Oversight
Enable cross-functional and partner co-development efforts to define, build, and deliver integrations across ERP, P2P, and expense ecosystems.
Support the use of Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and middleware solutions.
Partner with solution architects and scrum teams to validate, test, and optimize integrations — ensuring Visa virtual cards are the default and preferred payment method.
Implement and govern the API lifecycle, including versioning, deprecation, backward compatibility, and consistent API design principles (naming conventions, error handling, authentication patterns).
Developer Advocacy & Partner Enablement
Serve as chief advocate for developers internally and externally, ensuring their needs shape product strategy while championing developer-first design.
Collaborate with Visa’s commercial, marketing, and customer engagement teams to align API capabilities with partner and market needs.
Create and maintain world-class developer resources — documentation, SDKs, sample code, tutorials, and demos — to accelerate onboarding and integration.
Provide solution overviews and technical support to Visa’s sales and client services teams and enable partners through co-marketing and joint go-to-market initiatives.
Innovation & AI Integration
Partner with AI development teams to embed intelligent capabilities into Visa’s API platform — from automated documentation generation to predictive integration guidance.
Drive AI safety and compliance efforts, embedding guardrails and oversight mechanisms into all AI-enabled API features.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field, M.B.A. preferred.
- 10+ years in product management, product partnerships, systems integration, or enterprise software delivery, with at least 5+ years managing PM teams.
- Proven success in building, launching, and governing developer-facing products for internal and external audiences, ideally in B2B payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS.
- Hands-on experience integrating with banking platforms, ERP/accounting systems, P2P platforms, vertical SaaS, and expense management tools.
- Deep knowledge of REST, GraphQL, webhooks, SDKs, middleware (iPaaS), API gateway technologies, observability tools, API lifecycle management, and governance principles.
- Strong understanding of API architecture, microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-based infrastructure, and security/authentication protocols.
- Experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM APIs (or MCP servers), autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, GenAI tools, and integrating AI capabilities into developer platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud development environments, CI/CD workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with Visa Developer Platform (VDP) and virtual card issuance.
- Experience with Commercial Card and/or Virtual cards
- Self-starter with a strong bias toward action, able to connect dots across complex ecosystems, products, and partner landscapes.
- Proven success in fostering active developer ecosystems, including community engagement, partner innovation programs, and technical evangelism through events, hackathons, and industry forums.
- Passion for emerging technologies - including GenAI, orchestration frameworks, and autonomous agents - and their application in secure, scalable, and compliant API solutions.
- Experience collaborating with SaaS technology partners and global systems integrators, aligning joint product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
- Ability to navigate procurement, legal, and compliance processes.
- Skilled at balancing long-term platform investments with near-term delivery priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 207,500.00 to 301,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
